Mills is Professor Emeritus of Integrative Arts at the Pennsylvania State University where he teaches film, theater and popular culture courses at Penn State's Abington College. Dr. Mills is the former Head of Penn State's Department of Integrative Arts and former Director of Academic Affairs and interim Chief Executive Officer for Abington College. He received his doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr Mills has written extensively on film, literature, and theater, most recently on Irish films for the essay collection Contemporary Irish Cinema and on South American films and religious philosophy for JAISA:The Journal of the Association for Interdisciplinary Studies in the Arts. He is a member of the editorial review board for JAISA. His essay on musical theater was recently published in The Artworld and Its Audience.He has received the Lindback and Amoco Awards for excellence in teaching. Dr Mills lectures on film, theater and popular culture for the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Philadelphia, and Arcadia University Dr. Mills is a project evaluator for the Pennsylvania Humanities Council and for the National Endowment for the Humanities. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Abington Art Center and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Montgomery County Branch of the American Red Cross. Dr. Mills is the former president of the Pennsylvania Division of the American Association of University Professors. |
